Watercolor Screenprinting & the Layered Monotype

Explore a multitude of mark-making possibilities, from delicate washes to graphite line drawings. Work from sketches, photographs, or existing silkscreen stencils to produce a series of slightly variating prints that can be overprinted or worked back into with mixed media. Deconstructed Screen Printing on Fabric

Using thickened dyes and a ?breakdown printing? technique, students will develop vivid, layered surface designs for fabric. Create beautifully textured and patterned yardage or embellish one-of-a-kind wearables and household textiles. Esther will share examples of her work using breakdown printing to create stunning art quilts, wall hangings, and mounted prints.
