I teach printmaking, self-publishing, book arts, and surface design in weekend workshops, longer intensives, and one-day professional development classes for art teachers. I also offer private tutorials in silkscreen, printing on fabric, monotype, gelatin plate printmaking, experimental photographic printmaking and collagraph methods at Zea Mays Printmaking. For more information:

I love working with artists, figuring out which techniques and materials will best support their concepts. Working one-on-one is a rich experience, and very rewarding. I especially love to share my experimental approach to printmaking with novices and experienced printmakers alike.

Upcoming Workshops

Deconstructed Screen Printing on Fabric at Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program
Saturday-Sunday, September 15-16, 2108
Using thickened dyes and a “breakdown printing” technique, students will develop vivid, layered surface designs for fabric. Create beautifully textured and patterned yardage or embellish one-of-a-kind wearables and household textiles. Esther will share examples of her work using breakdown printing to create stunning art quilts, wall hangings, and mounted prints. Easily adapted to the personal studio, students will leave with the know-how to continue printing at home! register at
